Uber and Cosepuri, the main NCC operator in Bologna, announce the renewal of the partnership, started in October 2020, for the next 3 years: the Uber Black service, thus, is guaranteed for the next years for the benefit of app users and all Cosepuri NCCs who work with the Uber platform.
Thanks to this collaboration, the Uber Black service represented a further mobility opportunity in the face of the growing demand for travel options within the urban mobility system: in recent years, in fact, Bologna has become an increasingly sought-after destination on a of tourism and business, hosting international fairs and events and attracting a constant influx of Italians and foreigners.
In these 3 years the Uber Black service has attracted an ever-increasing number of users, both Italian and foreign, thus generating exponential growth in travel: since October 2020 the Uber app has been opened over 1 million times to request a ride in Bologna . The application also contributed to the discovery of the city by numerous tourists, especially foreigners who represented 65% of the app's users. During these 3 years, the three most requested destinations were Guglielmo Marconi Airport, the Central Station and the Bologna Fair. The longest journey of a single race was 294 km from Bologna to Monterosso al Mare in the province of La Spezia. A record user from Bologna completed 704 trips in these 3 years.
France, United Kingdom, Germany, United States, Spain and Poland are the most present nationalities in Bologna: in total users from 100 different foreign countries have used Uber Black in these 3 years. The service offered by Uber and Cosepuri guaranteed efficient mobility even during major events such as the two Måneskin concerts in the week of March 13, during which a record number of trips were recorded. April, July and September are the months with the highest number of races: September in particular, thanks to trade fair activity such as CERSAIE, confirmed itself as the record month in these 3 years.
The Uber Black Service is also particularly appreciated by Cosepuri's NCC drivers: in these 3 years the number of drivers active on the app has grown by 35%. The optimization of the trips, the flexibility of the application, the reduction of downtime between one trip and another are, according to Cosepuri's NCC drivers, the reasons for great satisfaction in using the app, also in this case ever growing: in these 3 years a driver has completed over 7 thousand trips.
